How To Buy DVD Storage

In the last few years DVD storage furniture has grown leaps and bounds with the sales of flat panel television. DVDs have gone from being a rare type of media only used be select people to the most popular form of distribution for movies and TV shows. However, with the increasing amount of DVDs in the average household you need to make sure you have the right DVD storage. So lets take a look at a few of the different DVD storage options you have available when buying storage units for DVDs or Blu Ray.

First of all you need to decide whether you want to have your DVDs on display or not. If you’re a movie geek then you might want to have your collection on show in the living room and in this case an open front DVD storage cabinet is probably the right option for you. However, if you take the way your house looks seriously then the random nature of DVD storage boxes may not fit well with your design. In this case having some sort of covering or door over the DVD storage case is important.

It might sound obvious but you need to make sure you buy a DVD storage unit with enough space to hold all your DVDs. Remember that your collection is likely to grow quickly so leave yourself room for the future.

One thing that’s really important when buying a DVD storage system is the color and design. Many people overlook the fact that the cabinets or racks used to store DVDs are quite large meaning that they can be a major part of your interior decor. If they don’t look good or are made of a material that doesn’t fit with the rest of the design then they can really bring the style of the whole room down. Think carefully about which DVD storage rack, cabinet or TV stands you buy and make sure you put as much thought into it as you would any other large piece of furniture.

Whether you need to store a few of your favorite movies in the living room or you want to store hundreds of DVDs there will be a CD and DVD storage option that’s suitable for you. Spend some time looking around at the various options on the internet and you’ll be surprised at the variety of different styles on offer to suit all tastes. Make sure you pick a DVD storage material (be it wood, steel or glass) that looks good on its own but also matches the rest of the design choices in the room.

Use DVD Storage Racks To Organize Your Media

Anyone who owns a large collection of DVDs probably frequently has to go through the task of organizing them unless you are equipped with DVD storage racks. This is even more crucial if you have a TV room or Home Theater. Lets face it, TV stands just do not hold enough media. Even if your just a movie collector you would need to be able to keep your DVDs stored and organize properly. If you have ever set out to purchase a DVD Storage Rack then you probably know it can be quite overwhelming with all the choices.

There are several key factors to take into consideration before you can choose the best set of CD and DVD storage racks for your DVD collection. The following few questions may be a good starting point:

-Are DVDs the only thing to be stored or do you own CDs too?
-How big is your media collection? How big will it get?
-What is more important: design or capacity?
-Will “some assembly required” be a problem?

You may have taken a trip to a department store to begin the selection process; rather you have or haven’t it should be noted that you can usually find an ample selection of DVD CD storage racks in stores such as Walmart, Target and Kmart. These are usually the type of CD DVD storage racks which require you to assemble them and are very basic. These types of media storage solutions usually come with a very good price tag but lack elegance. If you are just looking for a simple solution to store your DVD collection than a storage unit from a major department store might just do the trick.

If you are looking for something that will blend in with your living room or compliment your wall art then the fore mentioned media storage racks may not be for you. There are many DVD racks with a more antique design available both online and at various other retailers. Some places to try and search for them would include furniture stores, Best Buy, Office Depot and Staples in the furniture section. The price is often a little higher but you get a higher quality product. These stores usually stock many various wooden DVD storage racks and cabinets and they usually come in one piece so no assembly is required.

A wide selection of storage racks for DVD and CD media can be found from those which mimic book cases and china cabinets to the more modern metal and glass storage solutions. It comes down to personal preference but you should always consider the direction of your DVD collection. DVD storage racks come with a capacity and you should select something larger than what your current DVD collection occupies to allow room for future expansion, you don’t want to have to change the storage rack out in the future due to capacity restraints!

Why I Decided On DVD Storage Furniture

DVD storage furniture is very convenient to have if you have a lot of DVDs just laying around in cases. They cut back on the clutter and they make your home look a lot more organized. I am currently in search of a DVD storage unit that I can use in place of my book shelf that I am currently using.

I have my DVDs on a book shelf and they keep falling over because the book shelf was not made for DVDs this is why they make DVD storage cabinets because they will fit regular DVD cases in them without them falling over. I have seen DVD storage shelves and units for as little as ten or twelve dollars and these will usually fit around ten or twenty DVDs. Most of your DVD CD storage furniture will coincide with each other. You can conveniently use one cabinet for both.

I have also seen different DVD storage that will hold as many as nine hundred DVDs and they cost as much as twelve hundred dollars. There are some which have glass doors on them and they are more fancy looking than other and are also more costly. Glass door DVD storage is very modern and contemporary looking which much of todays market is after.

Sometimes it can be hard to find a DVD storage unit that will fit with your decor especially if you buy it after you have bought your TV stands, coffee table or end table. I made this mistake and now I can not find what I am looking for. I could always paint one if I needed it that bad, but I do not have time for this and it would be much easier if I could just find a TV stand DVD storage case that matches nearly exact to my living room decor.

There are a lot of places that sell DVD media storage furniture. You can find them at places online which offer free shipping, you can get them at online auctions and you can even get them at stores that might be local to you. It is important to get a DVD storage rack or tower that fits in the place you want to put it before you get home. To make sure it fits you should measure the area where you want to put it before you buy it and you should also bring a measuring tape with you when you go to pick one up so that you can measure it and this will ensure that the measurements on the media storage units are correct and also that it will fit where you need it to fit.

You should always read reviews about things before you buy them and you can usually find these online. I enjoy them so much because they are convenient when you need to find the perfect DVD to watch. As opposed to looking through a book that has DVDs in it.

I have one of these too and I prefer having my shelves as opposed to switching pages in a book over and over. Make sure you look for a good price on DVD storage furniture that you are looking to buy because you do not want to over pay for something that you could get for much cheaper somewhere else.
